Laughter - A Parents’ Best Coping Tool
This presentation will highlight the importance of laughter for emotional and mental health and the importance of laughter in parenting and everyday work and family life. Laughing is one of the most natural and healthiest things one can do when confronted with the major stresses and emotional challenges in life. This presentation will highlight the parent “types” and how you must recognize your style of parenting in order to be able to enjoy your child. It is never too late to become a fun parent. Your kids will love you for it.
Janice has been presenting workshops and keynotes to parents, educators and businesses for 20 years. She combines her scientific training as a Psychiatric nurse with her stand-up comedy experiences. she provides a fun filled experience for all participants.
Kathy Flood
Mrs. Kathy Flood is a Burnaby elementary school counsellor, Virtues Project Master facilitator, and mother of four. The workshop includes an introduction to the four principles and five strategies of The Virtues Project™. It will be a combination of instruction and small group work. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion from parents.

Karen, as the owner and operator of The Vital Link, has been teaching Red Cross First Aid and CPR courses for over 20 years. She has taught locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. Karen's background and certification in Early Childhood Care and Education has made her very sought after in this field.
Deborah MacNamara Not Just Child's Play
Dr. Deborah MacNamara is on Faculty at the Neufeld Institute and in private practice offering counselling and educational services. She works individually with parents and professionals to make sense of learning, behavioural and developmental issues with children and adolescents. Deborah also regularly presents on child and adolescent development in child care, education and mental health settings. Her particular interests and passion are in providing insight into preschooler behaviour, helping adolescents transition to adulthood, and walking people through the journey of parenthood.
