Our Program

St. Giles is a creative, play-based program for children aged three and four. The program is based on a balance of activity; both self-directed and adult-directed. The program is flexible. It is not a schedule but rather a flow from one activity to another.

It is based on meeting the needs of all the children, while at the same time meeting individual needs. A child's choice of activities is based on varying interests and individual needs.

St. Giles is a Parent Participation Preschool (PPP). What this means is the parents are involved in the classroom as teacher's assistants. Upon joining the preschool, the parents are required to complete ten hours of orientation which fulfills the basic requirements to be teacher's assistants. Depending on enrolment, parents can expect to be in the classroom, on average, twice each month. This is the most rewarding part of being in a PPP.

Schedule

The preschool is closed on statutory holidays as well as the last Friday of each month for teacher professional development.
